Dr. Angela Kinney, Director

Kristen Myers,
Treasurer

Kristen is an attorney with Beckman Weil Shepardson where she serves clients in the areas of litigation and general business and organizational law. Kristen also represents and counsels clients regarding their rights and obligations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Her professional and community involvement has afforded her the opportunity and unique insight to work with many urban, locally owned and operated small and family businesses. Kristen also enjoys representing several schools and nonprofits.

 

Kristen lives in a historic OTR home with her husband and kids. She frequents Findlay Market and Washington Park. She loves catching shows with her friends at Cincinnati Music Hall and the Aronoff Center.

Joe Vallo,
Secretary

Joe is a business management advisor and consultant serving nonprofits and for-profit social enterprises. He has many years of experience in a variety of industries and disciplines. His strengths lie in clarifying strategic visions and aligning operations and teams to bring those visions to reality. As a senior executive in several companies, he has developed successful business strategies and led complex operations. He currently serves on the board of trustees of the Over-the-Rhine Museum and the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra. He holds a B.S. in Marketing and an MBA from The Ohio State University.

 

He and his wife live in a renovated home in Over-the-Rhine. He is an avid jazz fan and an amateur singer and musician.

Christa has worked as a residential real estate agent for the past five years after over 15 years working in the non-profit sector. She volunteered several years ago for OTR Learning Center as an adult literacy volunteer/tutor, and is glad to contribute to the organization's new focus on children's literacy in our area. 

 

In her free time, she's an avid reader and moviegoer and enjoys theater and live music performances, as well as outdoor activities like hiking/walking and cycling.

Dr. Angela Kinney has over twenty years of experience in varied education settings. She began her career as a classroom teacher in public schools, followed by a position as a faculty member in a university teacher education program. Her research has been shared at a number of regional and national conferences and in international journals. She holds an Ed.D. in PK-16 Literacy and Learning Instruction from the University of Cincinnati.
